Traveling to Maui, Hawaii was an incredible adventure filled with visiting beaches, trying delicious food, and attending my best friend's parent's vow renewal.

Kapalua Bay

I absolutely love traveling, and I wish I could do it more. When I do travel, I try to make it the best possible experience. I recently traveled to Maui, Hawaii with my best friend and her family for her parent’s vow renewal. I knew that I had to see the beautiful beaches, and of course, try some Hawaiian local eats.

If you are picturing Hawaii with clear blue water, palm trees everywhere, and amazing weather, then you are spot on. Hawaii is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have ever visited (as well as Barbados).

Aloha Braised, Volcano Chicken

As I mentioned before, one of my favorite things to do when I travel is to try local food. I have a philosophy that food trucks are ten times better than a sit-down restaurant, and my philosophy proved right when I was in Maui. There were two food trucks I tried that I WISH I could take back with me to the mainland. The first was the Hawaiian BBQ food truck called Aloha Braised. Now, I’ve tried Hawaiian BBQ in the past when I lived in Arizona, but Aloha Braised was real authentic Hawaiian food. I tried the katsu chicken that came with a side of mac salad and rice…10/10 recommend. I also tried my friend’s volcano chicken that was out of this world amazing...11/10 recommend!

If you know me, you know that I love tacos! Can you guess what my next food truck was? You got it! And to think, we were just going to drive right past the taco truck until someone said, “Let’s go try that”! I was 100% on board for Ono Tacos Lahaina Maui!

I normally love to get carne asada tacos, but I decided to go a different route and try their shrimp tacos. Let's just say, it was the best decision ever.

The tacos were filled with shrimp—which I love. It had a very tasty sauce, and they had a wide variety of salsas and toppings that brought so much flavor to the taco! Ono Tacos Lahaina Maui, remember that name.

I would be lying if I said food isn't the top thing on my mind when I travel. It is so important for me to experience the different cultures that this world has to offer. So, if you are ever looking to travel to Maui, Hawaii, you now know where to go!

Getting a taste of Hawaii wasn’t the only thing on our list. We experienced some of their local beaches, such as Kapalua Bay, visited a couple outlets of Hawaii and attended a traditional luau that had even more food! The greatest event of it all was having the opportunity to attend my best friend’s parent’s vow renewal overlooking the ocean for their 25th anniversary. It was a beautiful ceremony on a beautiful island. Being able to attend their 25th vow renewal really does make you realize that good things really do last.

Now that you have some insight about some good places to go in Maui, I am going to leave it up to you to explore more of their local eats if you ever travel to Hawaii. Stay tuned for a little life update in my next blog post!
